Description
The Rustic Red Comb Pattern Pasta Bowl takes its design from the suribachi, a ridged Japanese mortar. Crafted in Mino ware, this red glazed pasta bowl has a bold vermilion exterior that flows into a walnut-brown interior, where a fine comb-textured pattern radiates outward. In a suribachi, combed grooves like these hold sesame seeds in place while they are ground.
Larger than most dinner bowls, its shallow shape holds a full main dish. It works well for noodles such as soba or somen, and also suits pasta, curry, rice dishes, salads, and hearty meals. The raised foot lifts the bowl off the table, while the dark interior makes light-colored foods stand out. The porcelain body is sturdy enough for everyday use, and the red exterior adds color for guests. With its bright vermilion and deep brown, the Rustic Red Comb Pattern Pasta Bowl stands apart from plainer ceramic pasta bowls and brings texture and color to daily meals.

Mino Ware
Mino ware is a traditional pottery from Gifu Prefecture with a history of more than 1,300 years. Its origins trace back to the Nara period, when early potters began producing simple earthenware. During the Momoyama period (late 16th century), Mino became Japan’s leading center for ceramics, giving rise to distinctive styles such as Shino, Oribe, and Kizeto—each deeply connected to the aesthetics of the Japanese tea ceremony. Today, as Japan’s largest pottery-producing region, Mino continues to evolve with contemporary life, blending timeless craftsmanship with modern design to support the way people eat and live every day.Pasta Bowl
Large bowls like these are the right size and shape for one-plate dishes like pasta, Japanese curry rice, stews, or somen and soba noodle dishes. Thanks to a wide, deep-plate shape, this type of bowl can easily hold a four-serving main dish with its braising liquid or sauce.Shipping & Return
