Description
The Deer Dessert Bowl is crafted in Arita ware and features a scalloped rim with a wide top edge that frames its blue-and-white decoration. At the center, deer are painted among grasses beside a low fence, surrounded by alternating panels of flowers and dotted bands along the inner rim. The combination of the detailed scene and repeating patterns gives the bowl a distinctive Japanese design.
The bowl is well suited for serving desserts such as ice cream, seasonal fruit, and wagashi (Japanese sweets), as well as small appetizers and side dishes. Its shape also works well for clear soups and other light dishes, in both Japanese and Western table settings.
The blue-and-white design pairs easily with a variety of tableware, while the scalloped rim adds texture and definition to the bowl's silhouette. Made by Fukuju Kiln, an Arita porcelain workshop founded in 1955, the Deer Dessert Bowl suits everyday dining as well as special occasions.

Arita Ware
Arita ware, Japan’s first porcelain, originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita, Saga Prefecture. Using pure porcelain stone sourced from the mountains of Amakusa, artisans created brilliantly white ceramics that quickly became celebrated for their beauty and strength. During the Edo period, Arita grew into a major center of porcelain production, with its works exported to Europe through the port of Imari, where they captivated collectors and royal courts alike. Today, Arita ware continues to embody the harmony of artistry and function, bringing timeless elegance to modern dining around the world.Dessert Bowl
This small bowl is adaptable for any course. It's an ideal size to serve desserts and sweets. For the main meal, it can hold sunomono (vinegared salad), aemono (dressed dish), nimono (simmered dish), or chinmi (special delicacy). It makes a good individual dish for hot pot or when serving a small portion from a large platter. Small bowls in different shapes and colors add personality and variety to your tablescape.Shipping & Return
